Eligibility
Organizations are eligible for grants from the Trust if they have qualified for exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and are not private foundations [as defined by Section 509(a) of the Code]; or are public instrumentalities. Grants are not awarded to individuals.

Application
Any qualified organization serving Craven, Pamlico or Jones Counties may apply for a grant from the Foundation by completing the designated application form. Application forms may be obtained from the foundation office or you can download a form by clicking the links below.

Grant deadlines are October 1st and May 15th of each year.

Details on submitting a proposal are included in the guidelines that you will receive with the application form. Please follow these directions:

  1. Read the Guidelines carefully.
  2. Fill out the Application Form
    • The Adobe pdf file is available for downloading and printing only.  The computer file of this blank form can be saved on your computer’s hard drive.  Except for sophisticated computer users, this form cannot be completed and then saved on your hard drive. Completion of this pdf formatted version should be done on your typewriter.
       
    • For the applicants with Microsoft Word expertise, the Word template is offered for your assistance.  After downloading and saving on your hard drive, you can use Microsoft Word to complete the form.  The form can be saved and edited on your hard drive.

      This Word file will allow you to enter data in the shaded text areas of the form.  The form is protected so that you cannot alter the format or add additional space for your responses.  The application must remain four pages in essentially the same format.  You can change the font and the type for your responses to allow for more typed information.  Please keep in mind the legibility of the printed form.

      The Foundation office has made every effort to make this form convenient for use.  The Foundation office does not offer computer technical support or software support for Microsoft Word.  If you have difficulty in use or completion of the Word template version of this application, please inform us via email or phone call.  However, we are unable to provide telephone software or computer technical support. If unsuccessful using the Word template, please type on the Adobe file printout as described above.

      After completion, follow the instructions in the guidelines for submission of the completed grant application.  The Foundation does not accept electronic submissions of grant applications.
  3. Print two (2) copies—one for your files and one to submit.

  4. Submit your application form and the other required information or documents per the guidelines.
